Your Small Painting Jobs Done Right

Painting is the quickest and most cost-effective way to dramatically change and improve the appearance of your decor. Fresh paint renews any space from the wear and tear of daily life, and can help your home look its best.

Cans of Paint

I offer a complete interior and exterior painting services for smaller spaces from simple touch-ups to full repainting rooms, and exterior painting. I use professional-grade high-quality paints and take the time to ensure a lasting paint finish. My attention to detail and careful preparation ensures your new paint job remains attractive for many years.

I Use Eco-Friendly and Healthier Paints

I promote and use of low VOC paints and recycled paints whenever possible, since they aid the environment and do not emit as many harmful irritants making the process better for all. I have had great results with low VOC paints from Sherwin-Williams paints and from Benjamin Moore. For recycled paints, I recommend Boomerang paints and stains.

Each of these paints are available from a number of paint retailers in the Halifax area and I can direct you to the one nearest your property.

Exterior Painting

The wet and cool Halifax climate poses a real scheduliing challenge for completing many exterior painting jobs. Since I specialize only in smaller outdoor painting jobs of limited sizes, I will make every attempt to work with your schedule and the weather forecast to prepare all surfaces and then apply your new paint or stain. Unfortunately this may mean rescheduling at the last minute because of poor weather and changing forecasts.

Generally you should keep in mind that the exterior painting season is short and runs only from June to September, so plan accordingly. Paints and primers always need dry weather with moderate temperatures (above 14C) to adhere and cure properly.

Interior Painting

Interior painting jobs are easy to schedule and can be done anytime of the year. I take great care to minimize the disruption in your home and will protect all furniture and surfaces to ensure a flawless finish that you can enjoy for years. Selecting low VOC paints with low odor makes the painting process more enjoyable, especially those sensitive to odors. And remember that for some bright colors that a tinted primer may be needed first to ensure proper coverage in only 2 coats.

Lead Paint Safety

I take special precautions when working in homes that may contain lead paint in the painted surfaces. This protects both you and I from the potential health impacts of exposure to lead found commonly in homes and busineses built before the 1980s. Check out the information provided by Health Canada to learn what you need to know about homes with lead paint in them.
